DR. ISAAC IHIASOTA - Originally an Anglican clergyman from Nigeria, Dr. Ihiasota is now a priest in the U.S. Episcopal Church, in addition to being a political scientist. Until recently, he (like many African Anglicans) held orthodox views about homosexuality, disagreed with Louie Crew about the inclusion of gays in the church, and believed that attempts to bring gay rights agendas to Africa were tantamount to cultural imperialism. As he became friends with Louie Crew over the past several years, however, Dr. Ihiasota has reversed his views on homosexuality, and now believes cultural exchange between Africa and the West can be mutually beneficial, rather than a neocolonial imposition on the part of Western progressives.
